Herman Crook and the Crook Brothers joined the Grand Ole Opry while it was still the National Barn Dance all the way back in 1926 toward the very beginning. He had a sense of loyalty and integrity that gave him the reputation of being reliable and trustworthy with the Grand Ole Opry.
Twin Harmonicas led the way instead of the fiddle in the Crook Brothers band giving them a unique sound that was deeply rooted in the backwoods traditions of the Tennessee hills.
