Country Music Roots and History - Joseph Lee Frank

Country music is full of men whose names were repeated and recalled affectionately by adoring fans throughout the country; however, some of the greatest contributors to country music stayed behind the headlines. Joseph Lee Frank was one such country music pioneer. Joseph Lee Frank was among the first managers and promoters in country music. He helped country music go from insignificance to the "Grand". He helped such artists as the late King of Country, Roy Acuff, the Singing Cowboy, Gene Autry, Joe's own brother-in-law, Pee Wee King, and many others. Though no one ever screamed as he stepped on stage or put his name in lights, his contributions to country music are insurmountable and must never be forgotten. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1967.
