Country Music Roots History - Samantha Bumgarner

Samantha Bumgarner, affectionately known as "Aunt Samantha", lived in a time when women stayed home and took care of children. They cooked and cleaned. They did the menial tasks that were all to often taken for granted. Samantha was special, though. She had an incredible passion fo music, which she came by honestly. Her father was an accomplished fiddler named Has. She learned to play the banjo and the fiddle, though she did not own a fiddle of her own until after she was married. She often played with Eva Davis, and together, they were the first women to record country music.
